About Timescape Systems

We specialise in timelapse film making and photography

Timescape director Rob Watson has been providing visualisation and photographic services to architects and the property professionals since the mid 90s. We began our timelapse journey around 15 years ago, developing our own self contained timelapse system for the construction & events industries.

Our solar powered system is connected to the studio via wireless 4G, allowing us to operate the cameras remotely and share the results across the world.

Combined with motion graphics and dynamic timelapse techniques we deliver world class videos for our clients.

We work with a diverse group of clients, including architects, ad agencies, property developers, hotels, TV channels & and health organisations.

We recently relocated our base of operations from central Manchester, our home for over twenty years, to the North Yorkshire Moors and continue to service clients throughout the UK.

Other digital services we provide include site photography, web design and 360° panoramic tours.

SOLAR POWERED

Our state of the art self contained timelapse cameras are solar powered, ensuring we can install just about anywhere with no chance of being inadvertently switched off.

4G CONNECTIVITY

Our cameras are connected to our studio via 4g, ensuring swift delivery of the latest image to our servers for further processing and archiving.

4k VIDEO

We deliver our videos in 4k resolution as standard and are happy to increase this to 8k upon request. For web and mobile delivery, our videos are automatically resized to suit each device and connection speed.

SITE MONITORING

Photos on our secure online portal can be viewed in your browser at any time to get an up to date snapshot of progress. The portal is password protected, ensuring only the people and organisations specified by you will have access to the original timeline photos.

DELIVERY

We provide a high resolution progress video each month during the project phase which can be easily embedded in your own website along with a selection of high res photos. We produce a professionally edited version upon completion which will include titles, soundtrack and graphics. See below for examples

Back up

As soon as a photo is taken, it is uploaded and catalogued on our server and simultaneously duplicated to our cloud storage facility for safekeeping and sharing to our portal service. We always keep at least 3 copies of every image taken.

ENCRYPTION

Secure VPNs connect our cameras directly to the studio. We use end to end encryption to ensure all data transfers are as secure as possible, with further encryption taking place at the server.

SITE SAFETY

Each project starts with a survey to locate the ideal camera positions followed by a risk assessment and method statement in order to minimise any potential hazards. Our operatives are all accredited with the relevant safety bodies to ensure awareness of and adherence to safe working practices.

Dynamic Timelapse

We provide high quality timelapse footage for broadcast, film and online media in whatever resolution you may require.

Depending on the length and complexity of a particular shoot, we aim to deliver high resolution, flicker free footage to you within 24 hours.

2 axis motion set up (slider & pan unit) on site with the Sony A7R3 and the peerless Canon 17mm tilt-shift. The perfect combination for architectural shoots!

Our typical kit for timelapse shooting includes: Sony A7R3 & Sony A6600 cameras, Sony 20mm f1.8, Sony/Zeiss 55mm f1.8, Sony 100-400mm GM, Sony 90mm Macro, Voigtlander 10mm, Canon 45mm, 24mm & 17mm Tilt-Shift lenses.

We use Breakthrough ND filters & Dynamic Perception motion control equipment on the majority of our shoots.
